14 May 2018 our trip to Rye commenced from London Charing Cross and we travelled via Tunbridge Wells towards St Leonards Warrior Square where we changed services and caught a Marshlink service to Rye. This is a pretty Cinque Port town in East Sussex. Lunch was taken in the lovely Ship Inn and we then explored the town enjoying a stop in a cake shop for respite. Our journey from Rye then continued towards Ashford International. Here we changed trains again a took a Javelin service on High Speed 1 back to St Pancras International a journey only lasting 40 minutes! A very enjoyable day out with weather to match. Members & Friends who attended were Roger (Hon Sec); Brian; Len (SAAL); Jackie; Malcolm and Patrick along with Jim (President).
