18 Jun 2018 our trip to Ely started out from London Kings Cross and proceeded on a Great Northern Service to Cambridge then onwards to Ely. Regrettably delays were encountered at Cambridge, our driver was unable to take the train forward to Ely as he was not qualified for that part of the route! So some 35 mins later we arrived at Ely meeting up with Dudley (Northern branch) and Malcolm (Anglian branch). Roger (Hon Sec); Brian; Len (SAAL), Patrick & Jim (The President) having travelled up from Kings X. We had a most enjoyable lunch in the Prince Albert and then headed to the cathedral and investigated the inside, an amazing structure. Again the weather was a bonus.  We then returned back to our respective destinations with Dudley heading back to York, Malcolm across to Norwich and the main contingent back to London.
