STEAM GWR Museum Swindon
MiRaCle members assembled at London Paddington for a GWR high speed run to Swindon, although delays experienced en-route due to signalling issues and SOS button pressed by someone on the Class 802 before Didcot! Lunch taken at The Queens Tap just outside Swindon railway station. Then a walk to Steam, the GWR museum situated in the former GWR locomotive works. Impressive display of railway items, ranging from interactive exhibits to a King and Castle class steam locomotives. A very enjoyable day with Roger (Hon Sec), Tim (SAAL), Malcolm (Windmills and Tide Mills & NNR Rep), Colin, Patrick, Dudley (Northern branch), SER Bob, Brian and Jim (El P). A fast run with speeds up to 125mph experienced for our return back to London Paddington.
